AICD is seeking new Council Members
We are calling all local American Indian community members to help shape the future of the American Indian Cultural District (AICD) by voting on our two open community elected Leadership Council Seats: a Cultural Bearer Representative and a Two Spirit/LGBTQIA+ Leadership Representative.
The nominees were chosen through an online and in person community nomination process that closed on March 28th, 2025. Once chosen, Leadership Council Members will serve a two-year term and will be required to attend up to six (6) Council Meetings annually.
Leadership Council Members provide recommendations, knowledge, expertise, critical thinking, decision-making, and analysis to support the development of the Cultural District. The Council comprises appointed leadership from local American Indian serving organizations, tribes, Native American-owned businesses, youth leadership, and community elected leadership seats. These community leadership appointed Council Seats are expected to be active and recognized community leaders, share information with the local community, and help elevate AICD community attendance and participation.
